Bugzilla – Bug 618599
NetworkManager does not connect to ethernet
Last modified: 2016-04-15 11:57:21 UTC
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.2.4) Gecko/20100611 SUSE/3.6.4-3.2 Firefox/3.6.4 After update to current factory with new NetworkManager, eth0 connects and then some NetworkManager disappears. I first saw with nm-tool: Device: eth0 State: connecting and then: Device: eth0 ... State: unknow WARNING **: error: could not connect to NetworkManager Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. install current factory 2. login 3. run nm-tool This happens on two laptops
Running ifconfig I see that dhcp assigned a network address. But this one is unusuable since no route is set. Somehow the interaction between NetworkManager and network scripts is broken. I consider this a SHOWSTOPPER for RC2
can you verify it's the NM? Please downgrade only that to RC1
I'll try to reproduce it in my laptop first.
Find it, the networkmanager-nis.patch, cause it, I make the mistake twice, :(, sorry about it, I'll update now.
If you have a package for me to test, please tell me...
