Bug in udisks
Last modified: 2011-05-16 10:40:45 UTC
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:2.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0.1 Experienced this bug on a i586 and a x86_64 system. Can't mount NTFS-3G harddisk using the KDE-Mount widget. It reports: Requested filesystem is neither well-known nor in /proc/filesystems nor in /etc/filesystems Seems to be this bug: http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-876109.html?sid=9c3216b49f7351df1eb2c5e708656de0 http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-875603.html https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=270689 http://projects.archlinux.org/svntogit/packages.git/tree/udisks/repos/extra-x86_64/fix_well_known_filesystems.patch Mounting from bash by using "mount /dev/sdb1 /mnt/" works!!! It's just about that udisks stuff. Didn't had this bug before a few days (9th May 2011). An update must have caused this (by yesterday I think). This seems to be a workaround: Add ntfs to /etc/filesystems Sorry had no time for a better report :-) Hope this helps! Thanks colAflash Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Actual Results: Mount NTFS-3G drive. Expected Results: Doesn't mounts...
