After the switch from iChain, third party apps can no longer access BNC via the API from outside the Novell/SUSE network. I am specifically concerned with Entomologist (http://entomologist-project.org) as that is my preferred bugtracking software.

The application throws the following error when trying to access BNC:
Error -32300: Error downloading https://apibugzilla.novell.com/xmlrpc.cgi - server replied: Forbidden

Reproducible: Always

apibugzilla is apparently only for employees (it works for me, for example). It would be great if that could be opened up to non-employees.

Is there any status update about this? It doesn't make any sense to allow only employees to have API access, when we promote openSUSE as a community distribution. And working around Access Manager is far more difficult than it was to work around iChain.
