Description Christian Boltz 2005-04-08 21:09:20 UTC
I have a laptop with synaptics touchpad. Using the touchpad, I can scroll
vertically and horicontally in many applications. xev recognices the scrolling
as mouse buttons 4, 5, 6 and 7.

Unfortunaly, horicontal scrolling with the touchpad doesn't work in Konqueror
and KMail's message area - so it seems to be a KHTML problem.
When trying to scroll horicontally, KHTML scrolls vertically instead.

To reproduce:
- open any website in Konqueror
- reduce window width until a horicontal scrollbar appears
- try to scroll horicontally using the touchpad (the mouse pointer
must _not_ be over the scrollbar!)

Lubos is _the_ expert when it comes to khtml scrolling

Comment 3 Dirk Mueller 2005-08-14 23:47:33 UTC
totally strange, because KHTML doesn't do anything different with wheel
events.
Comment 4 Dirk Mueller 2005-08-14 23:50:13 UTC
even more strange because KHTML was the very first application that supported
horizontal wheel scrolling.
Comment 5 Dirk Mueller 2005-08-15 02:27:55 UTC
argh.. caused by a suse patch.
Comment 6 Christian Boltz 2005-10-19 23:17:50 UTC
This bug still exists in 10.0 final :-(

BTW: I could also reproduce the funny behaviour described in #104599 - it always appears in the first Konqueror window you open directly after login. (It won't happen in later opened Konqueror / KHTML windows.)
Comment 7 Lubos Lunak 2005-12-06 17:20:37 UTC
Apparently already fixed by Dirk.
Comment 8 Christian Boltz 2005-12-22 22:16:32 UTC
I just installed KDE 3.5 from supplementary - it finally works :-)

BTW: Correct bug status would be "VERIFIED FIXED"
