Description Victor Billings 2005-05-02 16:49:53 UTC
Build : 20050502

Description : Modify ldap settings page requires setting proxy user password
even though the user is not changing that setting

Steps to reproduce :
1.in iF3e iManager plugin go to System > Ldap > Modify
2.enter in a new context to sync to the roster
3.hit ok - the proxy user password has to be set even though the user isnt
changing that value

Expected Results : This makes it hard to provsion a context because you have to
set the proxy users password and then reset it in ldap to match. The user should
be able to provsion a context without having to mess with the proxy users password.

Actual Results : The user is required to pick a password since they dont know
the proxy users password since it is generated. Then the user must go back and
set the password in ldap for the proxy user or sync will be broken

Additional information : see attached screencap for more info

Moving to SP1
Comment 3 Jared Allen 2005-05-04 23:02:05 UTC
Moving to FCS. Waiting for info from Scott regarding effort to fix and risk factor.
Comment 4 Scott Reeves 2005-05-05 19:40:19 UTC
Fixed on 5/05. The LDAP sync changed behavior and deletes the password from
the config file when it puts it in the store. We now pull the password from
the store instead of the config file.
Comment 5 Victor Billings 2005-05-10 22:48:03 UTC
this is fixed in the RC2 build of iF3e
