When I come to the login page by clicking "Log in" at bugzilla.novell.com, I am brought to a schizophrenic page (see attached screenshot), addressing me in English ("Please sign in") in the left half of the page, and in German ("Sie haben noch kiene Konto?") in the right half.

When I come to the same page by logging out, it appears entirely in English.

I also encountered a login page with much of it in Chinese characters,
when I switched my browser's locale from en-us to en
Comment 2 Ryan Wilson 2014-12-19 15:16:26 UTC
This is an issue with the login page itself (I, too, have experienced the occasional Chinese characters on certain browsers), and not with Bugzilla.
I will talk to the login people and determine who this needs to be reassigned to.

"…on certain browsers".

FWIW, I am using SeaMonkey trunk builds which I download from ftp.mozilla.org; my current version is

Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:37.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/37.0 SeaMonkey/2.34a1 ID:20141212003001 c-c:46e2006812f2 m-c:5288b15d22de

where ID: and what follows are identification data not sent with te UA string,

and the preference intl.accept_languages is set to en-us,en,en-gb,fr,fr-fr,eo-eo,eo,nl-nl,nl,es-es,es-ar,es,bg-bg,bg,hu-hu,hu

I think Bulgarian and Hungarian (at the end) are spurious; but there is no German anywhere in the list.

Merry Christmas, Ryan (and Bernhard), and a Happy New Year.

note: it became correct after a forced page reload
but I think, there might be some caching going on
which does not use the correct HTTP "Vary:"
or cache-control headers

When "properly" logged out (by clicking "Log out") I get the login page in English on both sides, even if I go to the Main Page, refresh it, and log in from there.

AFAICT it is only when I get logged out because the login cookie has expired (e.g. after closing and reopening the browser session, or after a browser crash) that I get the half-English half-German version.

I haven't yet tried Ctrl+Shift+R because I only saw comment #5 after logging in.

Somehow I cannot reproduce this bug at the moment. I don't know what has changed in either my way of doing things, or the site.

Bernhard, I'll let you drive the "user point of view" in this bug even though what you see is slightly different from what I saw, and is perhaps a different problem.

I shall still try to reproduce the problem by varying the way I log in after my login cookie expires, but no promises.

Any news from the login people?
Comment 9 Ryan Wilson 2015-01-16 16:30:10 UTC
I am reassigning this bug to one of them.

Jarid, feel free to reassign this bug to another person on your team if necessary.
Comment 10 Ryan Wilson 2015-08-10 17:19:08 UTC
I'm starting to notice this happening again. This time around, the occasional login page is in Spanish.

Attempting to elevate this problem.

Emailed Ryan Wilson asking if this is still an issue.
Comment 15 Ryan Wilson 2016-02-09 17:07:34 UTC
It's been a while before I've experienced this issue, nor have I heard any users complaints about it. If this changes, I will let you know.

still happens today
Comment 17 Bernhard Wiedemann 2016-02-10 08:08:00 UTC
just noticed that the bad content is pulled in via <script>
tags in the main page from
https://www.suse.com/common/inc/include.php?file=footers/global.html
https://www.suse.com/common/inc/include.php?file=login_createaccount.html

and it is the content of those javascript snippets
that changes randomly (possibly depending on who loaded it last)

Mar 7, 2016 (Emily Flinders): Thanks for the heads up on this…. This is another card that doesn’t have anyone assigned to it. This is probably why they have been sitting in the backlog for so long, sorry about that! I assigned myself and Walt so it will appear in the backlog when I go to pull things over. As far as it still being a relevant ticket, Jarid can you speak to that? Let me know if you have questions or if you need anything else on this.
Comment 22 Forgotten User wHS0LKDc67 2016-03-11 20:46:08 UTC
Mar 11, 2016 (Jarid Love): This one is our team. We're the ones that maintain the actual login page. We won't know if it's still an issue until it gets assigned to someone and they spend 30 minutes testing it.
